The Residential Real Estate Council

11/05/2020

The Residential Real Estate Council, RRC, (formally, the Council of Residential Specialists or CRS) provides some of the highest quality real estate education and networking opportunities in the industry together with the Certified Residential Specialist, or CRS Designation, the highest credential awarded to residential sales agents, managers and brokers. Hereafter we will refer to RRC as the organization and CRS to the courses and the designation.

Established in 1976, more than 31,000 of the top real estate professionals in the U.S. and around the world are members of RRC. It is the largest not-for profit affiliate of the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR), which is itself the largest professional association in the US with around 1.4M members. Its mission is “to train and empower ethical, efficient, and successful real estate professionals” and vision “to be the premier education, business and networking resource to REALTORS® and international real estate professionals”

ince 2006, UCI has been the RRC affiliate partner in Spain and Portugal, supporting the real estate channel by delivering its courses and organizing each February a professional trip to its annual Convention, Sell-a-bration, in the United States.  Also mirroring RRC, UCI has since 2006 published Revista Inmobiliarios, the leading industry magazine (trade distribution, aprox 10,000) and since 2010 organized Inmocionate each year, Spain`s leading event for real estate professionals (aprox 1,000 attendees).

In 2015, UCI established SIRA, Spanish International Realty Alliance, as the official bilateral partner association of the National Association of REALTORS® and organizes a professional trip to the US each year to the REALTORS® Conference & Expo, an excellent opportunity for learning best practice, networking and why not, some fun! In 2019 SIRA was awarded the NAR bilateral partner of the year in recognition of its contribution to the real estate industry in Spain.  Currently SIRA has over 1200 CRS members, 900 CRS Designees, 350 International REALTORS® and is growing fast.

Each year UCI, though SIRA, organizes around 100 courses attended by approximately 3000 real estate professionals.  Recently, due to COVID19, the courses are delivered online, in streaming, 2 hours each day for 3 days.  Initially, SIRA is providing the core CRS training program, namely the REAP, or Real Estate Advanced Practices, courses, essential for the CRS Designation.

Why not embark on the CRS REAP journey? For many top-producing agents, the CRS Designation has offered the “proven path to success” and represents their commitment, achievement and broad experience in the industry. The REAP programme covers everything a successful estate agent professional needs, from Business Planning, Marketing, Attracting Listings, Working with clients and Real Estate Negotiation.

Many professionals supplement their development with more specialized courses such as ABR (Accredited Buyer Representative), FPI (Finance for Real Estate professionals) and Converting Leads Into Closings and will do shortly, with the upcoming Mastering Time and Digital Marketing.

Through SIRA, real estate professionals can become members of CRS and SIRA/REALTOR®, whose benefits include discounts in CRS-SIRA courses, events and professional trips to the US, subscription to quarterly Revista Inmobiliarios, access to monthly webinars, the webinar library, entry to the CRS Professional Directory and excellent networking opportunities, both in Spain and internationally.

Real estate agents who collaborate with UCI can use their UCI Points to pay for courses, memberships, UCI-SIRA events and even UCI-SIRA professional trips to the US and can contact their UCI sales advisor for any help.  Otherwise, prices for online CRS courses start at €95, 5 course packs from €395, and packs can be combined with SIRA/REALTOR® membership from €525.

Detailed information of CRS-SIRA activities can be found on crsspain.es, siralia.com and inmocionate.com .  From September 2020 SIRA is planning a delivery of the CRS REAP courses in English, and for those professionals who work with buyers, or are dedicated “personal shoppers”, SIRA is planning to offer the ABR in English this summer.

SIRA looks forward to welcoming you to the SIRA/REALTOR® community and one of their many courses in the near future.
